Ouroboros is a series of performances van Duijn did based around the ideas of creation and destruction. She often finds herself doing art pieces where the body of the work becomes ephemeral. Van Duijn wanted to encase herself within the ceremonial and ritualistic aspects of the ouroboros. The constant eb and flow of life and death, and their infinite cycle. By creating three separate moments in time where she played with these symbols, the circles, the portals, she was having a conversation with another realm. One that exists very closely to ours, but is often forgotten by our everyday culture.
